How to reset my Qwiek.embrace

A quick solution for when your Embrace is unresponsive.

 

Sometimes, your Qwiek.embrace may not respond as expected. In most cases, performing a reset will resolve the issue. There are two ways to reset your Embrace: a soft reset and a hard reset, which restores the device to its factory settings.

Always start with the soft reset first, as this is usually sufficient.

 

Method 1: The Soft Reset (Restart)

This method is the quickest way to restart your Qwiek.embrace without losing any settings. It resolves most minor issues.

  1. Remove the button panel: Open the zipper at the bottom of the cover. Then carefully take the button panel out of its slot.

  2. Locate the reset button: Turn the button panel over. On the back, you'll see a small hole—this is the reset button.

  3. Press the button: Use a thin, pointed object (such as a paperclip) to briefly press the button inside the hole. One second is sufficient.

  4. Wait for the restart: The Embrace will now restart. In most cases, everything will work normally again afterward.

Method 2: The Hard Reset (Factory Settings)

Please note: A hard reset will fully restore your Qwiek.embrace to its original factory settings. For example, connections to WiFi networks will be lost. Use this option only if a soft reset did not resolve the issue.

To perform this reset, you will need your Qwiek.embrace and the USB charger.

  1. Place the Qwiek.embrace on a flat surface (such as a table) with the buttons facing upwards. This will allow you to apply pressure easily.
  2. Press and hold both buttons on the front simultaneously.
  3. While keeping the buttons pressed, connect the USB charger to the Qwiek.embrace within 3 seconds. If this takes too long, the message ‘Locked’ or ‘Unlocked’ will appear and you will need to try again.
  4. The LED indicator between the buttons will start flashing red. Continue holding the buttons!
  5. Wait until the LED indicator stops flashing and stays solid red.
  6. Once the LED is red, you may release the buttons.

The hard reset is now complete, and the Qwiek.embrace will restart with factory settings.
